About Our Speaker
Bob Smock
Technical Counselor, Security and Risk Management
Located in Houston, Texas, Mr. Smock is a senior cyber security advisor and consultant with a career that spans more than 40 years in IT. With more than 30 of those years in information and cyber security, his experience includes senior leadership roles for large, complex, life-mission critical security programs. Combining almost 2 decades of operational experience as CISO with the NASA Space Shuttle Program, as well as 13 years as the head of Gartner’s Cyber Security Consulting Practice for North America Public Sector, he has conducted and led more than 2,000 operational enterprise security program evaluations as both practitioner and consultant across numerous industry verticals. Mr. Smock currently provides cyber security program leadership and technical advisory services for Info-Tech members and clients. Bob holds CISSP, CISM, and PMP professional certifications. He also has degrees in Computer Science and Electronics Engineering from Texas A&M University, is a former member of the US Marine Corp, a graduate of the US Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and an adjunct professor/industry advisor of cyber security for the University of Houston.
