  • As a Principal Research Director, Brian focuses on emerging technology and has developed Info-Tech Research Group’s annual Tech Trends report, its flagship publication, since 2020. Brian also provides support with executive leadership strategy, and digital strategy. After more than a decade as a technology and science journalist, Brian has his fingers on the pulse of leading-edge trends and organizational best practices toward innovation. Brian holds a Certification in Emerging Technologies from ISACA and is a certified foresight practitioner via the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies. He writes columns on Forbes Technology Councils and Spiceworks Insights.

  • Prior to joining Info-Tech Research Group, Brian was the Editorial Director at IT World Canada, responsible for the B2B media publisher’s editorial strategy and execution. A leading digital thinker at the firm, Brian led IT World Canada to become an award-winning publisher. 

  • Brian holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University. He is regularly featured as a technology expert by media including CIO.com, CIO Dive, Techopedia, Chorus Radio, CBC, and elsewhere.

Carlene McCubbin

AVP CIO Research

  • Carlene McCubbin is an associate vice president, research development, at Info-Tech Research Group, covering key topics in operating models and design, governance, and human capital development. 

  • During her tenure at Info-Tech, Carlene has led the development of Info-Tech’s Organization and Leadership practice and worked with multiple clients to leverage the methodologies by creating custom programs to fit each organization’s needs. 

  • Before joining Info-Tech, Carlene received her Master of Communications Management from McGill University, where she studied development of internal and external communications, government relations, and change management. Her education honed her abilities in rigorous research, data analysis, writing, and understanding the organization holistically, which has served her well in the business IT world.
